FREE RIDE

This July, A Better Tuxedo is offering a free seat on the bus traveling from the Tuxedo Train Station to various points around Harriman State Park to Tuxedo residents! Come out and learn about places in your “backyard”, discover a new trail, or just take a scenic ride through the park.

Meet at the Tuxedo Train Station at 10am – the bus leaves at 10:50am and returns at 11:45am.

We are also looking for volunteers, so if you are interested, please write to abettertuxedo@gmail.com.

Visit A Better Tuxedo on Facebook (website to come) or view the volunteer request here:

SCHOLARSHIP TO TUXEDO HIGH SCHOOL
A scholarship is open to students who are non-residents of the Tuxedo Union Free School District in Grades 9-12 who wish to attend the George F. Baker High School in Tuxedo, NY on a full-time, non-resident tuition basis for the 2015-2016 school year and subsequent years. These students must show demonstrated interest and achievement in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) -related programs/activities. The scholarship program is funded through a $450,000 donation from the Sonne Family’s Vincent Mulford Foundation (this foundation will be exhausted by year’s-end).

Applications for scholarship, which range from $4,000-$6,000 for the school year, are currently available on the George F. Baker High School website (www.tuxedoufsd.org) and can also be accessed on the Rockland Community Foundation’s website (www.rocklandgives.org).

It seems the deadline has passed, but since this was just sent to me on July 2, I encourage you to contact Rockland Gives to see if they will extend it.
